An automotive radiator manufacturer in Mexico used punch presses to form and shear radiator headers from copper sheets. Cyclically, over time, their presses lost the ability to cleanly shear each copper sheet. These periodic failures caused significant, downstream production and inventory issues. Since technical help was unavailable from the manufacturer of the system, the Customer asked Southwestern Controls to diagnose and resolve this critical production issue.

After careful, on-site analysis, our technicians determined vane pumps in use failed and needed to be upgraded. Once the pumps were upgraded, the automotive manufacturer resumed normal operations and improved plant capacity.
